Battery Amp Hour and Solar charge calculator
I got a bit bored last night and found myself browsing a few websites that discuss solar power and battery life when RVing. I found every site explain how to calculate your battery and solar needs, but none that just gave you the ability to get those figures without having to work through a bunch of math. Surely, I am a math nut and enjoy these sort of puzzles, but I suspect most others are not like me. Lucky for them, I am also a bit of an Microsoft Excel nut too.
Firstly, tell the spreadsheet about your solar setup;
How many watts or amps is your solar panel setup?
How many hours of sunlight in your region?
It will then tell you an estimated charge achieved in a single day
Then, enter in your usage data;
What is the Amp-Hour rating of your battery-bank?
What appliances do you use each and for how long?
It will then tell you the estimated draw from your battery-bank.
